The Blucerchiati have been struggling with financial problems for several years now and it finally took its toll on the field as well, seeing them doomed to relegation with a month to spare this season.

The biggest worry for their fans is not playing in Serie B, but whether they can survive the summer without bankruptcy being declared.

Massimo Ferrero is considering several offers to sell up and Leeds United chief Radrizzani had emerged as the new favourite over the last few days.

However, now French paper L’Equipe claims that Qatar Sports Investments have entered into advanced negotiations and are prepared to make the deal stick.

The most famous asset in the QSI portfolio is Paris Saint-Germain, which was purchased in 2011, but they also bought out a portion of SC Braga in Portugal and and been in talks to buy West Ham United last month.

Other clubs mentioned in their sight were Malaga, Santos and an unnamed Belgian side.
