Inter may feel they are close to agreeing a new contract with Milan Skriniar, but that won’t stop Paris Saint-Germain offering to almost double their salary proposal.
The defender was the subject of endless speculation over the summer, with the Ligue 1 side doing nothing to disguise their attempts to purchase him.
Those bids failed when up to €70m was rejected, even though his contract is due to expire in June 2023.
Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta continues to insist he is confident and ‘optimistic’ a deal will be done very soon to lock Skriniar down to a new deal.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, that contract will be worth circa €6m per season plus performance-related bonuses.
However, the same report also warns that PSG have not given up yet and are ready to intercede with their own proposal worth almost €10m per season.
The 27-year-old Slovakia international joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2017 and has never pushed towards the exit, despite the open courtship from the French side.
