Lazio forward Joaquin Correa could be heading towards PSG rather than Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine is on the transfer market following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri to replace Simone Inzaghi at the Stadio Olimpico.

He had been expected to be snapped up by a Premier League club, with the asking price at €40m.

Arsenal and Tottenham were considered to be the favourites for his signature.

However, Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà now claims Paris Saint-Germain have climbed to the front of the queue for ‘Tucu’ Correa.

There had already been a timid approach last month, but it is now said to be intensifying.

Correa turns 27 in August and scored 11 goals in 38 competitive games for Lazio this season, also contributing six assists for his teammates.

There is a €70m release clause in his contract.

He was signed from Sevilla in the summer of 2018 for €15.3m plus bonuses.
