“Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi has made a permanent transfer to Italian side Juventus,” the French side announced on their website, following Juve’s own statement.

“Matuidi, 30, will remain one of Paris Saint-Germain's emblematic figures of the QSI [Qatar Sport Investments] era.

“Having joined the Club in 2011, the France international [58 caps, 8 goals] has been one of the key players in the Club's extraordinary rise on the domestic and international scenes.

“In all competitions, Blaise Matuidi wore the Rouge et Bleu 295 times, scoring 33 goals and providing 30 assists. He is seventh in the Club's all-time most-capped player ranking.

“Over his six seasons with Paris Saint-Germain, during which he wore the captain's armband several times, Blaise amassed one of the most complete trophy hauls in the French game with four French Ligue 1 championships [2013, 2014, 2015, 2016], three Coupe de France [2015, 2016, 2017], four Coupe de la Ligue [2014, 2015, 2016, 2017] and four Trophée des champions [2013, 2015, 2016, 2017], as well as finishing runner-up at UEFA Euro 2016 with Les Bleus.

“During his Parisian career, Blaise Matuidi was twice named in the Trophées UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year [2012-13 and 2015-16] and, in 2015, was named French footballer of the year by France Football.

“Paris Saint-Germain wishes to thank Blaise for his professionalism and dedication to the club colours and representing the Club in various initiatives.”

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi also thanked Matuidi.

“I will always have great memories of Blaise’s six seasons with our club. He’s a player who played every match with generosity and a permanent desire to win everything, earning everyone's admiration.

“Blaise will remain in our hearts and he will always be welcome in the big PSG family. We wish him every success in his first challenge abroad and every success with the France national team in this World Cup season.”
