PSG are preparing to raise their bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and are now the favourites ahead of Manchester City, according to The Telegraph.
The online version of the English newspaper claims that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer up to €80m for the centre-back.
That would meet the original asking price and see him brought in as a replacement for Thiago Silva.
The 29-year-old Senegal international was placed on the market by President Aurelio De Laurentiis, as long as they received ‘the right price’ for his sale.

Manchester City have seemingly turned towards Sevilla defender Jules Kounde instead, as their relationship with Napoli is frosty at best, which is why negotiations over Koulibaly have been conducted entirely via an intermediary.
PSG are the only real contenders now for Koulibaly and reportedly saw an offer worth €50m plus bonuses rejected.
However, if the Telegraph story is true and the bid now reaches €80m, a sale could be completed quite quickly.
Koulibaly is by no means pushing to leave Napoli, so it would have to be the right price for any sale to go through.
