PSG confirm Marco Verratti has ‘some muscular damage’ and is at risk to face Atalanta, but Kylian Mbappé is back in training.
There were reports in RMC Sport and L’Equipe that Verratti had suffered a serious calf injury in training following a collision with Eric Choupo-Moting.
Further reports insisted the situation was not yet entirely clear and it does seem as if Verratti has some hope ahead of the Champions League quarter-final on August 12.

“Verratti was on the receiving end of a heavy blow during training yesterday and suffered significant bruising to his right calf, which has led to some muscular damage that will be monitored by the club over the next 72 hours,” read a PSG statement.
“Mbappé continues his recovery as planned. He is back running without the ball on the pitches of the Ooredoo Centre.
“Layvin Kurzawa suffered a muscular injury in his right thigh during the final of the Coupe de la Ligue. He is expected to be back training with the squad in the next two weeks.”
Coach Thomas Tuchel spoke to reporters after a friendly match this evening and confessed they were “worried” about Verratti’s situation.
“We’ll find out soon whether Mbappé can at least be on the bench against Atalanta.”
