Angel Di Maria is a step closer to joining Juventus as a free agent after Paris Saint-Germain confirmed he is leaving this summer.

The 34-year-old had been at the club since the summer of 2015, when he made the €63m move from Manchester United.

His contract is due to expire on June 30 and it was already widely believed that he would not be signing an extension.

Now that is official, with an announcement from PSG that Di Maria is saying goodbye to the Ligue 1 Champions.

In his seven seasons at the club, Di Maria has won 18 trophies, more than any other player.

Multiple reports are confident that Juventus are first choice for Di Maria, who has been offered a one-year contract with option to extend for a second season.

His final appearance in the PSG jersey will be against FC Metz on Saturday evening at the Parc des Princes.

That will be Di Maria’s 295th match for the club, having scored 92 goals and provided 118 assists.

Unless there is an 18-20 year old youth product in the same position waiting for a chance but could benefit from the guidance of a veteran workd-beater, these moves for players in other leagues halfway through their thirties isn’t exactly the way forward.
But I say that as a Zlatan-fan… Seeing what he has brought to the club the last couple of seasons, there is every reason to consider a player for who he is, not how old he is…

But Di Maria is no Zlatan… Who is he tutoring? Cause if he is getting a starting berth… Well… Good luck with that, Juve.

All starting to feel like the EPL in the 90s with Serie A cast offs (Thomas Brolin 😂) and players the wrong side of 30.
