Paris Saint-Germain are feeling confident Vitinha could recover in time from a knee injury to face Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The group stage begins next week with a huge match at the Parc des Princes.
Vitinha went off in agony just 24 minutes into Saturday’s 3-0 Ligue 1 victory over Nantes after a rough tackle caught him on the left knee.
There were real fears of potential ligament damage, but according to L’Equipe, the situation looks more reassuring after tests this morning.
A final decision will be made on Monday and the alternative to Vitinha would be starting Renato Sanches, who was for a very long time linked with a move to Milan this summer.
Timothee Pembele is out of action, while of course Mauro Icardi has been frozen out pending a potential transfer to Galatasaray.
Italy internationals Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti are expected to start, with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.
