Christophe Galtier confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain are looking for buyers for Serie A linked duo Mauro Icardi and Keylor Navas.

The Costa Rican veteran has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli and some reports suggest that he’s a part of the Fabian Ruiz negotiations as well. For Icardi, both Monza and Sampdoria are seemingly interested in making a move, despite his predominately poor period in Paris.

Speaking in a press conference, Galtier discussed PSG’s transfer market strategy and the plan for Icardi and Navas.

“We’ll sign another striker, Kalimuendo will head to Rennes and we are trying to find a solution with Mauro Icardi.

“Keylor Navas doesn’t want to be a second choice goalkeeper behind Donnarumma, I know there are clubs interested.”

Three time Champions League winner Navas was forced to share his starting spot with Gianluigi Donnarumma last season, and it quickly became apparent that the arrangement wouldn’t suit either player for another campaign, essentially forcing the Costa Rican to find a new club this summer.

Things have never been particularly easy for Icardi following his arrival in Paris back in 2020. He has consistently struggled to maintain form and has only scored 38 goals in 92 appearances for the club, looking a shadow of the player that once lit up San Siro for Inter.

  1. 38 goals in 92 appearances, many coming off the bench. How is that a terrible output? Look at his minutes played and goals and it is almost 1 every 2 games. Since when is that bad? People rag on the guy for non-football reasons, but he can play.

  2. its Icardi’s witch of a wife and all the baggage that comes with it that people don’t want to deal with it …. she’s poison

  3. Fan,
Because he plays in the MLS league of Europe on a ‘wonder’ team.
He should have double the goals, even off the bench
