The Giallorossi faced a 6-2 away defeat to Manchester United in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final yesterday.

Fonseca is expected to leave at the end of the season, but he could be sacked even earlier than that, according to reports in Italy.

“It would be good for everyone to change coach now. Fonseca is not able to control the team anymore,” Pruzzo told Radio Radio.

Fonseca used all three slots for substitutions due to injuries in the first 30 minutes last night. Despite that, Roma were up 2-1 at the break.

“Injuries affected the game, but we can’t find excuses, he should have parked the bus and defend the result in the second half,” Pruzzo said.

According to reports in Italy, Massimiliano Allegri was one of the candidates to take over at Roma, but he refused the job offer.

“It’s a good thing he said no because he wants to coach a Champions League team. It must be a honour to become the Roma coach," the former Roma striker concluded.
