Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel outlined the main target for the season now that they have qualified for the Champions League.

The Biancocelesti secured second place in Serie A under coach Maurizio Sarri and will therefore be in Europe’s main competition for the 2023-24 campaign.

“The objective is to get through the Champions League group phase,” Provedel told Sky Sport Italia while attending the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austria.

“I want to have fun and enjoy every single moment.”

The former Empoli shot-stopper was originally second choice at Lazio behind Luis Maximiano, but instead took over after a red card in the opening six minutes of the debut.

Provedel went on to match the all-time Serie A record for the most clean sheets in a single season.

“I look at the statistics because ultimately results count. Some might not like it, but the points you achieve do the talking.”
