Il Fatto Quotidiano reports that the Turin Public Prosecutor has denied a request for documents from Cristiano Ronaldo in the Juventus investigation.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner, through his lawyers, asked to see some documents from the investigation into the Bianconeri and their hidden salary payments. This was denied by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, who made it clear that he was not entitled to receive them.
Ronaldo already has three documents of interest, his private agreements with Juventus. After having renounced four months of wages in the early stages of 2020, he signed three documents with the club to guarantee him three months’ worth of money, one if he stayed in Turin and another if he left. These were worth €19.5m.
Il Fatto Quotidiano highlights how Ronaldo would be aware of the situation if he did have the investigation papers in hand, as the advice from Alessandro Lucci – the agent of Leonardo Bonucci and Juan Cuadrado – was clear that those private agreements had “no value for legal protection.”
In the background, a note from one of the Juventus management’s meetings on ‘Updates Manoeuvre 20/21’, held in September last year, details how ‘AA’ – presumably Andrea Agnelli – asked for an update about the Ronaldo situation and underlined how “the latter left without bothering to finalise his position regarding the salary manoeuvre.”
AA then “suggested not to chase him but to wait for him to raise the issue if he is interested.”
