There are six proposals to build a new Palermo after their bankruptcy, including from Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero.

The Rosanero failed to register for the 2019-20 Serie B season or prove their financial stability, so have been declared bankrupt.

This means they must begin again from Serie D with a new owner, name and squad.

Today was the deadline for proposals to be submitted to the Mayor of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando, and six different groups provided their paperwork.

Today was the deadline for proposals to be submitted to the Mayor of Palermo, Leoluca Orlando, and six different groups provided their paperwork.

These include the local pair of Dario Mirri and Tony Di Piazza, who created Hera Hora srl as a holding company.

Zurich Capital Funds is the holding company for an Arab Emirates fund based in London.

Sampdoria President Ferrero had previously said he was pulling out of the race, but has now handed in his proposal via Holding Max.

There are another three groups who filed papers and relatively little is known about them: Palermo FCB 1900, Cuore Rosa Nero and Palermo football Club.

A decision on who has won the right to form a new football club in Palermo should be made by Wednesday evening.
