Stefano Pioli is not expected to change his Milan XI against Roma, while Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku will start on the bench for the Giallorossi.

Serie A round 3 starts on Friday with SassuoloVerona at 17:30 BST and Roma-Milan at 19:45.

New Giallorossi signings Dybala and Lukaku are available for Mourinho, but will start on the bench. Lorenzo Pellegrini is expected to play behind the only Roma striker, Andrea Belotti. Evan N’Dicka is favourite over Diego Llorente in defence.

Pioli, on the other hand, won’t change his starting XI with Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud in a front-three.

Domenico Berardi will make his 2023-24 Serie A debut in Sassuolo-Verona, returning to action after missing the first two games of the season.

The Italian winger had been pushing to join Juventus, but the deal did not materialise. Verona have won two games from two so far, just like Milan, and seem to have just one line-up doubt with Filippo Terracciano or Davide Marco Faraoni starting as right wing-back.
