Milan are working to keep up the pressure on league leaders Napoli and now face Jose Mourinho’s Roma in a tough Serie A outing.

The match between the Rossoneri and the Giallorossi kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Napoli’s loss to Inter on Wednesday means Milan are only five points behind heading into this weekend, giving them confidence in their fight to close the gap. A win over Roma is key for maintaining momentum in the early stages of the year.

Unfortunately for Pioli and Milan, they have a long list of injuries. Mike Maignan, Simon Kjaer, Alessandro Florenzi, Fode Ballo-Toure, Rade Krunic, Junior Messias, Ante Rebic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Divock Origi are all unavailable for today’s clash with Roma.

Roma have continued to look inconsistent in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge but the return of World Cup winner Paulo Dybala may give the team a key boost in their fight for a top four finish. They opened the year with a 1-0 win over Bologna.

Mourinho cannot count on the injured duo Ebrima Darboe and Georginio Wijnaldum. Roger Ibanez, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante are all one booking away from picking up a yellow card suspension.

Probable line-ups for Milan vs Roma:

Milan (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

Roma (3-4-2-1): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Celik, Cristante, Pellegrini, Zalewski; Dybala, Zaniolo; Abraham.
