The third Derby della Madonnina season is now upon us, a match in which Milan are hoping to find redemption and Inter are looking to confirm their status as best of the rest in Serie A.

The match between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.

Inter suffered a tight 3-2 loss to their intercity rivals in the first meeting of the season but bounced back in the Supercoppa Italiana final last month, flying to a 3-0 win. Simone Inzaghi’s side sit second in the league table, 13 points behind league leaders Napoli, and they’ll be keen to start building a gap between them and the other top four contenders.

The Nerazzurri cannot count on the injured Joaquin Correa, and Marcelo Brozovic is also in doubt as he works to return from a calf issue.

Milan have not started 2023 well and have only managed one win in their last five league outings, beating Salernitana back on January 4. Since then, they’ve drawn with Roma and Lecce and lost to Lazio and Sassuolo. Stefano Pioli’s side were also knocked out of the Coppa Italia in a shock 1-0 loss to Torino.

The Rossoneri are without Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Alessandro Florenzi, Ismael Bennacer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, all of whom are out injured.

Probable line-ups for Inter vs Milan

Milan (4-3-3): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Kajer, Theo Hernandez; Krunic, Tonali, Pobega; Saelemaekers, Giroud, Leao.
