Inter will be looking to stay in the slipstream of league leaders Napoli with a win over a plucky Empoli side.

The match between the Nerazzurri and the Tuscan side kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter will be feeling confident heading into the second half of this season after their decisive Supercoppa Italiana victory over rivals Milan, flying to a 3-0 win in Riyadh to pick up the first silverware of the season. Simone Inzaghi’s side have recovered from their sluggish start to the campaign and are now dreaming of closing the 13-point gap to the league leaders.

Inter will have to do without the injured Samir Handanovic, and both Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic are in doubt.

Empoli have found their footing in Serie A this season and currently sit 12th in the league table, a comfortable distance away from the relegation zone. The Tuscan side have only lost one of their last five outings and will be hoping for an upset in San Siro.

The Azzurri will have to do without Alberto Grassi, Mattia Destro and Ardian Ismajli, all of whom are out injured.
