Atalanta can return in the top seven if they beat Salernitana, but the Granata want to extend their winning streak, keeping survival hopes alive.

It kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Gewiss Stadium.

Giuseppe Pezzella and Josip Ilicic are out for La Dea. Luis Muriel is favourite to start over Jeremie Boga. The Colombia international has contributed to 15 goals in the last 11 games against newly-promoted teams. There are more doubts in midfield for Gian Piero Gasperini where Remo Freuler should start over Matteo Pessina.

Duvan Zapata scored the only goal in the previous three Serie A meetings between these two teams in the reverse fixture. Atalanta have never conceded from direct free-kicks this season, while Salernitana have scored four goals, more than any other Serie A team.

Atalanta and Salernitana have collected the same amount of points in 2022 (17 in 15 games) and La Dea hasn’t won at home in the last four games (2D, 2L). Atalanta haven’t failed to win five matches in a row in Bergamo since March 2016.

Salernitana play their second game in hand on Thursday against direct rivals Venezia but won’t rotate tonight as both matches are crucial in the race for survival.

Mamadou Coulibaly, Joel Obi and Riccardo Gagliolo are on the sidelines. Simone Verdi returns but may start on the bench.  Ivan Radovanovic is not 100% fit, so Luca Ranieri should replace him in defence.
