Italy are ready to take to the pitch under Luciano Spalletti for the first time, facing North Macedonia in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

The match between the Lynxes and the Azzurri kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Tose Proeski Arena in Skopje.

The match is Spalletti’s first in charge of the Italian national team following his appointment earlier this month, when he replaced previous incumbent Roberto Mancini.

The Azzurri are expected to play a fast-flowing attacking style with a 4-3-3 formation, similar to what guided Napoli to the Scudetto last season under the Tuscan coach.

Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini and Juventus winger Federico Chiesa were both forced to withdraw from the squad due to minor injuries, forcing Spalletti to quickly tinker with his plans.

Italy currently sit third in their Euro 2024 qualifying group but could rise to second with a win over North Macedonia. The Azzurri lost to England in their opening qualifier but beat Malta in their second outing.

Probable line-ups for North Macedonia vs Italy

North Macedonia (4-3-3): Dimitrievski; Ashkovski, Musliu, Zaykov, Alioski; Bardhi, Ademi, Elmas; Trajkovski, Nestorovski, Miovski.

Italy (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Mancini, Bastoni, Dimarco; Barella, Cristante, Tonali; Politano, Immobile, Zaccagni.

  1. Retegui instead of ciro if he wants a fast flowing pace… chiesa is a huge loss as this team can’t score

  2. I don’t understand why Frattesi gets the shaft by Inter and the national team. He should be starting with Barella always. Cristante is trash.

  3. He will change this team leading up to euro . I think he is playing it a bit safe with keeping some of these guys . Crisante is trash tho would not have even called him up
