Milan have five players positive for COVID, while Roma have two, but the game is expected to go ahead. Check out the probable line-ups.
The match at the Stadio Meazza is one of those expected to be played as scheduled. Milan announced three more cases of COVID yesterday, so they now have five, but four players are unnamed and one is the second-choice goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu.
However, Sky Sport Italia reported that Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria didn’t take part in yesterday’s training session.
Franck Kessié, Fodé Ballo-Touré and Ismael Bennacer are on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic have returned to group training this week, while Pietro Pellegri and Simon Kjaer are injured.
The whole team will undergo a new round of swab tests today.
Roma have Spinazzola out of action, Borja Mayoral and Daniel Fuzato with COVID. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham returned to group training this week and are expected to start.
Roma lost 12 away games in 2021 and haven’t won two matches in a row away from the Stadio Olimpico since August 2020.
Probable line-ups:
Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kalulu, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Messias, Diaz, Saelemaekers; Giroud.
Roma (3-4-1-1): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Pellegrini, Cristante, Veretout, Vina; Zaniolo; Abraham.
It looks like Roma are in better shape, but I have a gut feeling that most (if not all) of the games are going to be cancelled today.
Yeah, once again luck gave us no chance. Never mind the starters, we basically have no one on the bench for defense and midfield.
Money on Florenzi scores an own goal
@Romanista
Watch him score for us and you go to bed crying next to your teddy bear
Roma might laugh now but wait until summer when the club sells every decent player they can as usual.
Man, this starting lineup is not much better than some relegation strugglers…
