Juventus start the Champions League campaign against Malmö FF in Sweden and Paulo Dybala seems set to return to the starting line-up, while Wojciech Szczesny continues in goal.

The match kicks off at 20.00 UK time.

The Bianconeri has the South Americans back in the squad ahead of the game in Sweden and Massimiliano Allegri is expected to start in a 4-4-2 formation.

The coach confirmed Szczesny will start in goal, while Matthijs de Ligt will play in the heart of the defence, most likely next to Leonardo Bonucci, who spoke at a press conference yesterday.

Juventus have lost two games on the bounce against Empoli and Napoli, as Allegri looks for his first win of the season in Malmö, but are without Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi.

The home side, coached by Jon Dahl Tommasson, arrive in a classic 4-4-2 formation for the first game in the prestigious competition.

Allegri makes a host of changes after the 2-1 defeat to the Partenopei, with Paulo Dybala next to Alvaro Morata up front.

Juan Cuadrado should be back at right, in a midfield four, with Adrien Rabiot on the other side. Rodrigo Bentancur and Manuel Locatelli are set to start in the middle.

Brazilian duo Danilo and Alex Sandro should return as full-backs, with Bonucci and De Ligt ahead of Szczesny.

Malmö FF (probable): Diawara; Beijmo, Ahmedodzic, Brorsson, Olsson; Gwargis, Rakip, Innocent, Rieks; Colak, Birmancevic

Juventus (probable): Szczesny; Danilo, De Ligt, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Bentancur, Locatelli, Rabiot; Dybala, Morata

  1. Such a same Chiesa is out… I cannot stand to see Bentancur and Rabiot in the line-up… waste of space.

  2. Almost all of these Juve players have good technical skills — there’s no reason for them to play the kind of dour, reactive game that Allegri is coaching back into them. Pirlo was in over his head and didn’t know how to organize the team, but at least he tried to get them to play modern football. This Juve seem like they’re moving backwards in multiple ways.
