Napoli travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face Lazio this evening and a win would take them top of the Serie A table.

The match between the Biancocelesti and the Azzurri kicks off at 19.50 UK time in Rome.

Inter and Milan both dropped points in their matches on Friday, drawing to Genoa and Udinese respectively, so a Napoli win would see them rise to the top of the table, tied on points with the Rossoneri but ahead on goal difference.

Only Manuel Lazzari is out injured for Lazio today, although both Pedro and Francesco Acerbi’s conditions will be closely monitored as well. Ciro Immobile is also ready to take part, despite not training yesterday. Danilo Cataldi is also in doubt for the match after suffering a muscle issue.

  1. I think Insigna ‘s mind is elsewhere just like Kessies and is not giving 100% so should be dropped and nabbed brought on as a late sub if needed

  2. Injuries and the AFCON has destroyed the rhythm of the team. While they have picked up some good results over the past two months, the difference in the teams performances is a stark contrast to the very exciting-dominating and defensively tight side we saw in the opening months of the season.

The midfield isn’t the same without Anguissa and Lobotka, and like Sempre Italia alluded to, Insigne has been very ineffective of late. The sooner Koulibaly gets the captains armband the better. Insigne has always had a fragile mindset.

  3. Lobotka should start in the double pivot. That midfield of Elmas-Fabian-Zielinski doesn’t work, as we saw last week. Elmas should replace Insigne at lw/lm.

  4. You can tell a lot about the character of a team by how it comes back from defeat. This will be a gut check for both sides. This could be Napoli‘s whole season here in one game.

    Forza Napoli sempre!
