Roma and Atalanta are ready to kickstart their European campaigns in their Europa League openers against FC Sheriff and Rakow Czestochowa respectively.

The match between the Tiraspol outfit and the Giallorossi kicks off at 17.45 UK time, with la Dea taking on the Polish side later at 20.00.


Roma finished second in the Europa League last season, losing to Sevilla after a close penalty shoot-out, so Jose Mourinho’s side are keen to resolve their unfinished business.

The Giallorossi are without Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Marash Kumbulla. Chris Smalling is also in doubt and could be left on the bench.

Sheriff cannot count on Vinicius Paiva, Moussa Kyabou and Rasheed Akanbi. The Tiraspol side currently sit second in the Moldovan league, having won four of their five opening games.

Gianluca Scamacca and El Bilal Toure are both sidelined with injuries for Atalanta, weakening Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack.

Rakow are without the injured Zoran Arsenic, Stratos Svarnas, Jean Carlos and Adrian Gryszkiewicz. The Czestochowa club sit fourth in the Polish Ekstraklasa, having won four of their opening six matches.
