Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says Serie A must go: ‘If everything goes on with all the precautions, I do not understand why football should stop’.

“I don’t think there’s any grounds for interrupting the Serie A,” Preziosi told GR Parlamento on Monday.

“The situation does not make us smile but if everything goes on with all the precautions, I do not understand why football should stop.

“You have to save the show, the championship that must go on.”

The Genoa President was also asked his thoughts on JuventusNapoli, which had not been played after the local health authority prevented the Azzurri from travelling to Turin on October 4.

The Bianconeri, however, believe Napoli didn’t respect the FIGC protocol and expect a 3-0 win by default but a decision has not been taken yet.

“I don’t know how it will end up,” said Preziosi.

“There was an intervention of the ASL, asked or not, and it bypasses rules and protocols.

“The prosecutor is investigating the behaviour and this is another matter, there could also be a penalty, I don’t know. I’m curious too".
