The Grifone held the Partenopei to a draw at Marassi yesterday, but the club patron nevertheless sees Maurizio Sarri’s men as potential title winners.

“Napoli are the best team we’ve seen in Genoa up to this point,” Preziosi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“It’s difficult to win at our stadium. Roma and Napoli are the number one candidates for the title. Roma are perhaps the most complete, but Napoli have a top Coach in [Maurizio] Sarri. He’s the best buy [Aurelio] De Laurentiis has made for Napoli.

It’s been reported in recent weeks that Preziosi will sell 50 per cent of the club to Giovanni Calabrò, despite legal troubles.

“Everything I do – and it certainly won’t be my goodbye – will be for the good of Genoa. We need to bring stability to the club, and to raise to bar a little bit, and for that we need investment.”
