Genoa President Enrico Preziosi reveals he rejected €15m plus bonuses from Napoli for Leonardo Pavoletti.

The striker has been linked with both the Partenopei and Fiorentina, but he won’t be allowed to leave this close to the transfer deadline.

“I got a call from Aurelio De Laurentiis, offering me €15m plus bonuses for my centre-forward,” Preziosi revealed, speaking to Gazzamercato.

“I got a call from Aurelio De Laurentiis, offering me €15m plus bonuses for my centre-forward,” Preziosi revealed, speaking to Gazzamercato.

“I told him clearly that with two days until the transfer window closes there’s nothing to even talk about.

“I can’t risk relegation, and selling Pavoletti so close to the end of the window would leave us no time to find a replacement.

“Simeone Jr [Diego’s son Giovanni] is good, but he’s young and I can’t put that responsibility on him. Leonardo is happy to stay with us, and that reinforces my decision to keep him, knowing that he’ll give the best for this shirt.”
