Maurizio Sarri’s side were top of Serie A heading into last night’s match, but were held 0-0 by the Grifone amid complaints about the match officials.

“It was an unusual 0-0 game because it was very interesting,” Genoa President Preziosi said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“Napoli are a great team, they made us run and suffer. [Genoa Coach Ivan] Juric had prepared very well, he knew that against Napoli you can’t go for too many dreams as they’re well Coached by Sarri and play good football.

“After such an intense and emotional game I’m not going to talk about referees, errors and incidents.

“You could analyse the touch of a hand and say it’s a foul, but it didn’t interrupt the dangerous attack Napoli were building. The referee could have whistled, but it wasn’t a decisive incident.

“I’m sorry for the Azzurri, I hope they win the League but it’s possible to draw in Genoa, it was the right result for both teams.

“If Genoa or Napoli had won it would have spoiled what the game was a little bit, but of course I hope Napoli can win the Scudetto soon.”
