Genoa President Enrico Preziosi reveals that deals which will see Alessandro Matri join Juventus and Marco Borriello return are all but complete.

The Grifone patron had previously admitted that Matri would depart, with Roma striker Borriello returning for a third spell with the club.

“The only active trail is the one that leads to Matri joining Juventus and Borriello to Genoa,” Preziosi told Radio Anch'io Sport.

“Everything is already done. I don’t think we’ll do anything more.

“Sales? [Mauricio] Pinilla wanted to play, and didn’t want to stay in Genoa, so I let him go. I’ve replaced Matri with Borriello, Niang, we’ve decided to focus on other options.

“There are things the club has to think about, like salaries. Borriello has always done well in Genoa, we’re calm because we’ve made the right choices with these deals.”

The President also reiterated his criticism of referees after seeing his team defeated by Fiorentina through an offside goal.

“There was a mistake, I think we could have beaten Fiorentina. I don’t want to play the victim, [but] the referee’s discretion sometimes makes the difference.

“In the last four games we’ve been affected by five non-existent goals. I hope it’s a coincidence, we’ll see.

“Against Napoli we lost because of two goals from refereeing mistakes. We’re playing for different things now, before we were third but aware of our limitations.

“We lost the derby because of an offside, but it was impossible to see. We had the motivation of staying near the top of the table, we didn’t get there by chance.

“Since I said that [referee Luca] Banti was a disaster for Genoa, there have been a lot of negative situations for us.

“I’m not saying the referees are against us, I’m just saying – with hint of irony – Banti brings bad luck.

“We’ve had some negative situations in recent weeks, but not attacking the referees. I’d like to decide referees at random, there’s no reason to think that one referee is less good than another who is ‘capable’ of officiating a big game.

“I’m not angry, I’m just making an objective assessment.

“I don’t believe that these things balance out at the end of the season, we could have had a different campaign.

“At the moment we should have the same number of points as Fiorentina, and the position in the table is also important to motivate the team.”
