Genoa President Enrico Preziosi was unrepentant after smashing a journalist’s camera in a physical altercation. “I would do it again.”

Shock video circulated of the patron and toy magnate tussling with a journalist from the Secolo XIX who was asking him about rumoured sale talks at the club. Scroll down for video.

“I removed a camera that was position in an improper fashion,” Preziosi told TGCom this evening.

“I already apologised and said I’ll pay for the camera. However, it’s not right to ambush people. My reaction might be criticised, but the violence I suffered was worse.

“I will not accept someone filming me in secret and then ambushing me. In that context, I would indeed do it again.”

Preziosi then blasted the media reports he is in negotiations to sell Genoa to Varese President Antonio Rosati, who has now officially been named Executive Vice-President.

“I am stunned by the lies that are being spread. Rosati will join the club, but there is absolutely no exchange or sale of shares. I am not going to sell the club.

“We saw on the front pages that Rosati is the new President of Genoa, but it’s simply untrue. We will simply strengthen the squad. Every day in Genoa they have to invent something to upset me.

“I am simply replacing director Pietro Lo Monaco with Rosati. He will leave the post of President of Varese because the two positions are conflicting.”
