Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has criticised the team for their 1-0 loss to Cagliari. "It was the worst Genoa that I have ever seen."

Boss Davide Ballardini described the side's Marassi display as "terrible" yesterday, but Preziosi has been scathing in his analysis of the game.

"It was the worst Genoa I have ever seen, at home or away," stated the toy tycoon. "I honestly can't explain that performance. I'm very disappointed."

Robert Acquafresca scored the only goal of the game on 15 minutes to give the Sardinian outfit a surprise victory.

"Everything was missing," the patron added. "We basically remained in the changing rooms for 90 minutes.

"We understood nothing. The problem was that we had no ideas and we were never in the game. We were last to every ball.

"I have to say that Cagliari deserved to win and we deserved to concede more goals. It was a horrible Genoa. This should be reflected upon by the players and the Coach."

Genoa have had a frustrating season and currently find themselves in 12th place with just 39 points from 31 matches.

"There are still seven games to go and this won't do for the team, the club or the fans," the Rossoblu chief added.

"We'll have to think long and hard about the performance or we may concede four or five against Juventus in Turin next week."
