Several reports in Italy claim Milan directors want to assess injury problems tormenting Stefano Pioli’s side since the start of the season, but according to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri boss will also be under scrutiny if he doesn’t win against Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund.

The Rossoneri haven’t won a Serie A game for over a month and their Champions League victory against PSG was their only joy since the October break.

Moreover, Milan players have already suffered 24 injuries this season and club directors will soon meet Pioli and his staff to assess the matter.

According to Tuttosport, CEO Giorgio Furlani will soon reunite with Pioli and his staff and although the coach is unwilling to change his staff members, the club could make a decision on Matteo Osti, the current fitness coach of the Rossoneri.

Osti was named best Serie A fitness coach in 2021-22, following Milan’s Serie A victory, but Milan players have been suffering too many injuries so far this season, so the club is considering taking action immediately.

At the same time, Pioli’s job is not under threat, but according to Tuttosport, Milan directors will consider the coach’s position if the Rossoneri fail to win against Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund after the break.

Failing to qualify for the Champions League Round of 16 could be particularly costly for the Parma-born coach, whose contract at San Siro expires in June 2025.
