Zhang has been in China since October 7, 2020, as the pandemic has made international travel rather difficult.

Zhang landed in Milan this morning.

He’ll meet with the team at the Pinetina training ground, but is not expected to travel to Crotone for Saturday’s game.

Zhang has arrived to celebrate the first ever Serie A title won by a non-Italian club owner, but also to discuss Conte’s future at San Siro.

Discussions are underway to secure a loan worth €250-300m from Oaktree or Bain Capital.

Once the financial future of the club is guaranteed, they can begin to work out a transfer strategy for next season.

That could be decisive in whether Conte remains or walks away.
