President slams ‘unacceptable’ Pescara

Daniele Sebastiani has slammed Pescara for an “unacceptable” exit from the Coppa Italia and hinted that players will leave in January as a result.

Massimo Oddo’s decision to name a peripheral-looking Pescara team against Atalanta on Wednesday backfired as they crashed out of the Coppa last 16, courtesy of a 3-0 defeat to the Serie A high-fliers.

“Except for only Pettinari and Fiorillo, we’ll take careful consideration of this game, in which the attitude of the lads was incomprehensible,” the President told Rete8.

“Yes, our focus is on Serie A, but I can’t accept performances like that.

“We played like a team without anything, yet it was a great opportunity for many of the lads to prove their worth, given they hadn’t played in the League.

“This isn’t the right attitude, but it’ll give us a better idea for the January market.

“I’m happy for Gyomber. He needed minutes in his legs. He stood up for the entire 90 minutes and gave comforting signs.

“For everyone else, my lips are sealed. Measures I’ll take? There’s no need. Those who continue to play like this, they’ll be out on their own.”
