Newly-promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are now closing in on a deal with Napoli for unwanted midfielder Jens Cajuste, according to updates on Wednesday afternoon.

Ipswich Town closing in on Cajuste loan deal with Napoli

Napoli and Ipswich are reportedly close to signing off on an agreement for a straight one-year loan deal for the Sweden international, who only moved to the Stadio Maradona this time last year.

Cajuste has recently been in England and even completed a medical with fellow Premier League outfit Brentford last week, but the West Londoners ultimately decided to pull out of that deal.

Cajuste joined Napoli from Stade de Reims last August in a deal understood to be worth somewhere in the region of €12m.

Since then, he has gone on to make 35 appearances in all competitions, including 26 in Serie A, but only 11 of those league appearances came as a starter.

The 25-year-old struggled to cement himself as a starter in the Partenopei midfield after a conveyor belt of new coaches at the Stadio Maradona last season.
