Sofyan Amrabat has been one of Morocco’s standout stars at this World Cup and Premier League giants Tottenham and Liverpool are both desperate to secure his signature, reports detail.

The 26-year-old Fiorentina midfielder has shined at the tournament in Qatar, being the beating heart of his Morocco side and playing a key role in their historic charge to the semi-finals. Amrabat needed pain injections to play in the Round of 16 clash with Spain but still looked as strong as ever in the quarter-final win over Portugal.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Tottenham were interested in picking up Amrabat in the summer, with Antonio Conte making his appreciation of the Moroccan clear, and the North London side are ready to return for the Fiorentina man in January.

Spurs will be facing competition from both Liverpool and Olympique de Marseille, setting up a tough battle for his signature.

Fiorentina are overjoyed with the situation and in a strong position; Amrabat’s current contract expires in 2024 but they have an option to extend it by one year to 2025. It would take an offer of over €30m to convince them to give up on the World Cup star.

  1. Agreed. Amrabat has been playing this ways for at least two with Fiorentina, but now they take notice and come calling. He is who he is because of Fiorentina. I hope he stays.

Compared to how good he was at Hellas his stint at Fiorentina haven’t been that great. Except a few games, and that’s why Fiorentina probably would sell if they can recoup the money spent and then some.

Why is it disrespectful that they are rumours about Fiorentina and serie a players? Wouldn’t it be more disrespectful if if clubs from other leagues wouldn’t be interested in the player?
