Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has been told that there is only one objective for Euro 2012 – to win the tournament.

The Azzurri impressed in qualification and actually assured themselves of a place in next summer's Finals last month.

Prandelli has rejuvenated the fortunes of the side after 2010 World Cup humiliation, but the Italian Football Federation want even more from the side.

"The players have believed in the philosophy of the Coach," FIGC Vice-President Demetrio Albertini noted.

"Everything in sport is won with hard work and with patience, there are no miracles," he continued.

"Today we can celebrate our qualification for the European Championship, but we know that we have to target the maximum.

"Italy's objective in Poland and the Ukraine is not to put on a good show, but to win the competition."
