Cesare Prandelli says he’s “always ready” to return to the bench, whether it’s in Italy or abroad.

The former Italy CT has been out of work since leaving Galatasaray mid-way through last season, but is looking to get back in the game.

“Coaches are always ready,” Prandelli laughed, when asked about a comeback by FCInterNews.

“But It doesn’t always depend on us. All joking aside, I’m very motivated and stimulated, but I’m not worried and I’m not rushing.

“But It doesn’t always depend on us. All joking aside, I’m very motivated and stimulated, but I’m not worried and I’m not rushing.

“I don’t want to make the wrong choice, the point is to get an important role.

“Even after the experience in Istanbul, I’m attracted to overseas. I think they can do things well in other countries, so I’d also be prepared for a new experience outside of Italy.”

Prandelli worked with Brazilian striker Adriano at Parma, and believes the wayward talent had the potential to be the best in the world.

“Was he the best I worked with? Without the slightest doubt, absolutely. He had stratospheric potential, a wonderful lad who has got lost with the passage of time for various reasons.

“In my view, his quality was such that he could have been top-scorer for any team in the world. When we [Italy] played in Brazil in the Confederations Cup, he came to visit us.

“We hugged, remembering the good times, and there was no little emotion.

“Maybe his focus was on something other than sport. Maybe, in his case, he just wanted to take 20 families out of the Brazilian favelas. And he did.

“That was his task, he had no desire to be the best player in the world.”

Galatasaray defender Semih Kaya has been linked with Inter, and the Coach thinks he’d be a good addition.

“I’d love to see him in Italy,” Prandelli said.

“He’s an amazing lad, very dedicated and with great potential. For two years he’s been the best defender in Turkey and he can still improve.

“He can adapt, if necessary, to a new reality like Italy, but if Inter were to get him he’d be a great acquisition.”
