The Coach assesses Serie A in a weekly column for Calciomercato, and gave his opinion on the Rossoneri after they were held to a draw at Carpi.
“After playing their best game of the season against Sampdoria, Milan have once again highlighted the limitations we’ve already seen in dribbling and creating chances,” Prandelli wrote.

“After playing their best game of the season against Sampdoria, Milan have once again highlighted the limitations we’ve already seen in dribbling and creating chances,” Prandelli wrote.
“Aside from Carpi’s aggressiveness and the lack of quality in the Rossoneri midfield, I’ve often got the impression that Milan have an overly scholastic style of play.
“When you take away [Giacomo] Bonaventura, I don’t see the fantasy and desire to take risks that can make the difference.”
Roma have not won any of their last four games, and Prandelli feels the absence of captain Francesco Totti is taking its toll.
“They’re paying for the inevitable expectations of a fanbase who want to win after two consecutive second-places.
“In failing to meet these expectations with a top-level squad, it seems they’ve got themselves into a tunnel from which they can only emerge with hard work.
“The decisive Champions League match with BATE Borisov can really be a turning point, and has to be used as a springboard to gain momentum.
“I’d place a lot of importance in what [Coach Rudi] Garcia said after Barcelona, when he called for men more than players.
“Everyone has to give something more and and go over the tactical issues from recent games. The defensive line is too frayed and isn’t getting the benefit of protective work from the midfield.
“In terms of charisma and personality, they’re missing a player like Totti, one who can take responsibility and thrive under pressure.”
Napoli fell to a surprise defeat to Bologna at the weekend, and the former Fiorentina Coach sees Juventus and Inter as more solid.
“In Bologna, Napoli were missing the defensive compactness which Inter and Juventus have,” Prandelli explained.
“They’re the two teams of the moment, they’re showing great consistency. It might be less spectacular, but Inter and Juventus are showing a strength which always pays off in the Italian League.
“At the moment [Juventus Coach Max] Allegri’s defence convinces me more, if only because we’re talking about players who have been together for a longer time, and therefore know each other better.
“However, Inter have found a superb defender in Miranda, a real leader who has integrated well with an extraordinarily quick player like [Jeison] Murillo.”
