Former Italy CT Cesare Prandelli believes Milan lack “three or four players with a strong personality”.

The Rossoneri were beaten 4-0 at home by Napoli last night, and the Coach gave his assessment of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side.

“Fear is the main thing hanging over Mihajlovic’s Milan right now,” Prandelli wrote in his weekly column for Calciomercato.

“They’re a team trying to get out of a difficult spell, they’re applying the ideas and concepts of the Coach, but with too little room for improvisation.

“I don’t see three or four players with a strong personality to revive the group, I don’t see the lads playing with mental freedom, risking more difficult passes or pieces of play.

“They’ve changed a lot of players in the summer, but the badge on the shirt is still weighing too heavily on some of them.

“Mihajlovic is working on various tactical solutions, he’s trying to remove responsibility from individual players by creating an identity which is still not there.

“But those who take to the pitch should give more. I’m still convinced that Sinisa is the right man to take this team forward.

“I smile when labels are put on Coaches, and it’s happened to him. They want to make out that as a Coach he’s just about character and personality, but he’s a complete professional from a tactical point of view too.”
