Cesare Prandelli believes the ‘solid structure’ at Juventus means they’re still Scudetto favourites.

The Bianconeri have lost both of their opening fixtures, the first time that has ever happened since the introduction of a national League.

“Generally, the pundits expect four or five teams to be fighting until the end,” Prandelli told assembled media at an event to launch Massimiliano Allegri’s new coaching app.

“I think Juve will still be the the team to beat, thanks to their solid structure.

“Who had the best transfer campaign? I don’t know, we’ll have to wait and see. I’d say maybe Roma have found the right players in the right roles, they’ve got a lot of players who can be decisive one-on-one.

“A lot of teams have decided to start by playing good football. It’s a well-balanced League, with a lot of new players and teams trying to find their way.”

Prandelli resigned from his post as Italy CT following last summer’s World Cup, and believes his successor, Antonio Conte, needs time to get things right.

“It [the national team] has become where you bring through young players, whereas before it happened at club level.

“Conte is working to improve these lads, it will take a lot of patience.”

Finally, the former Fiorentina and Galatasaray Coach addressed the question of when he’ll return to the bench.

“When will I come back?” Prandelli considered.

“When it’s the right time, because it’s not up to me. I’m waiting.”
