Cesare Prandelli confessed he feels ‘tired’ and is trying to steer Fiorentina to safety after a 4-1 win away to Benevento.
The coach had been effectively in semi-retirement before he took over from sacked Beppe Iachini and it has been a tough slog.

Cesare Prandelli confessed he feels ‘tired’ and is trying to steer Fiorentina to safety after a 4-1 win away to Benevento.
The coach had been effectively in semi-retirement before he took over from sacked Beppe Iachini and it has been a tough slog.
This evening’s victory, earned with a Dusan Vlahovic hat-trick and Valentin Eysseric lob, takes them up to 29 points.
“Vlahovic deserves all the credit for his hard work and determination in training, because these are the results,” Prandelli told Sky Sport Italia.
“The third goal is stunning, so either you have that quality or you don’t, you can’t train for that. From now on, it’ll be even more complicated for him, because the expectations are going to be raised.
“I want to point out how well Eysseric did too, not just with the goal. He always had quality, but lacked consistency and needed to train really hard to make me trust him.
“We have the foundations to build on for the future, but we are really missing the fans. Florence is a city that is both very motivating and very demanding, so I think if the crowd had been in the stadium, we’d have realised the urgency of our situation much quicker.
“We had to come together behind closed doors and tamp down some situations that were outside the club, whereas I prefer to do my work openly.
“I do feel very tired and quite emptied out. I am very happy for the players and the club, but I am tired.”
Franck Ribery came off as a substitute in the final minutes and had a laugh with the coach on the touchline.
“Ribery told me he could’ve held on for the full 90, so I told him I was old and miscalculated by four minutes. He replied that he was old too!”
