Cesare Prandelli warns Franck Ribery is also in doubt to face Inter tomorrow, as Fiorentina already miss Gaetano Castrovilli and Nikola Milenkovic.

“We had a slight problem for Ribery and will have to evaluate him tomorrow morning,” said the coach in his press conference.

“Our recent performances have been pretty good, as we increased the intensity level. We are not a team that make many passes, but we do know how to get into the opposition penalty area fairly regularly. We just have to focus on our concentration and avoiding errors. The players must think positive on the ball and negative without it.”

Inter are second in Serie A and are in the Coppa Italia semi-final, so Antonio Conte has impressed Prandelli.

“It’s a team capable of going all the way in Serie A, as they have a consolidated style of football and defend like a tank. We must be very balanced and solid to counteract their strengths.

“I hope my team is relishing how wonderful it is to play games at this level and prove we’re up to the task. Romelu Lukaku is a difficult forward to mark, as he roams all over the front line, but Lucas Martinez Quarta did well against him up until the last minute of extra time in the Coppa Italia. He was fouled on the decisive goal and couldn’t do any more than that.

“Martinez Quarta has character and good technique, but what he mustn’t do is try to go beyond his limits or what is asked of him.”

New signings Aleksandar Kokorin and Kevin Malcuit arrived on transfer deadline day, but Prandelli insists the Russian ‘needs at least three weeks of training. Malcuit is on the bench and can play about half-an-hour.”

With Castrovilli suspended, we could see Borja Valero face his former club.

“He already knows Inter well, but I still have some doubts on the different options.”

Fiorentina squad for Inter: Amrabat, Barreca, Biraghi, Bonaventura, Caceres, Callejon, Igor, Dragowski, Eysseric, Kouame, Kokorin, Malcuit, Martinez Quarta, Montiel, Pezzella, Pulgar, Ribery, Rosati, Terracciano, Borja Valero, Venuti, Vlahovic
