Genoa Coach Cesare Prandelli warns “going to Sardinia is difficult” and expects a “very aggressive” Cagliari.

The Grifone face a long trip south to face the Isolani on Boxing Day, and Prandelli previewed the match in his Press conference this morning.

“Going to Sardinia is difficult, because there’s a particular atmosphere there,” the Coach warned.

“It will be a very different Cagliari, very aggressive, and they can play too. They have an interesting midfield and are a complete team, we can see they’re working well to find balance.

“For our part we need to stay in the game, which will be difficult against a very organised team. We must understand where we can hurt Cagliari and we’ll try to do it.”

Prandelli was also asked about the effect of playing on Boxing Day, which Serie A hasn’t done since the 1970s.

“We’ve known the schedule since July and therefore accepted it. Everyone has had the opportunity and time to prepare for it.

“For us it’s a working day. Everyone wanted to celebrate with their families, but we’ve made this commitment and we have to play nice football.”
