Fiorentina director of sport Daniele Prade admits that the club are seeking a midfielder and a defender, whilst believing they are “becoming an attractive club for many players.”
Prade was speaking at a press conference to announce the contract renewal of Riccardo Sottil until 2024, and spoke on a variety of issues.
“We are very happy, because another young player has married our project. He [Sottil] has renwed until 2024,” said Prade.

“We are very happy, because another young player has married our project. He [Sottil] has renwed until 2024,” said Prade.
“This renewal was also wanted by our President Rocco Commisso. We want to build our core with young players. A lot of sides wanted Sottil, but now he won’t go anywhere.”
Patrick Cutrone recently signed from Wolves, and Prade states that Cutrone is the level of player the Viola want.
“Cutrone is a demonstration of the kind of player that we want in every department.
“We know that in midfield, numerically, we need a player, and also in defence. However I keep saying that we won’t buy players for the sake of it.
“The players we sign need to make a difference to the team.
“We are becoming an attractive club for players, thanks to our growth.”
Brazilian forward Pedro left Florence after only four months at the club, and Prade says the allure of home was too great.
“Pedro arrived here with muscle problems, we waited four months, then Flamengo arrived, and for the Brazilians it’s always an irresistible call.
“We can say that he was a technical failure, but from an economic point of view it is a good deal, and if he returns to top form we can take him back.”
