Juventus and Inter have been constantly linked to the 22-year-old, and a meeting took place between Federico’s father, former Fiorentina striker Enrico, and the club concerning his future.
“We were informed by Enrico that Chiesa is open to the idea of renewing his contract and staying at Fiorentina," said Prade in a press conference.
"It was a productive meeting. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the opening to a new deal either. We are a strong club with a long-term contract, so there is no rush to sort anything out."
There have also been rumours that Chiesa had handed in a transfer request, something that’s been denied by director general Joe Barone, and also now by Prade.
“Chiesa hasn’t asked to be sold, neither in January or in June.”
There were reports via Sport Mediaset that the Viola warned Chiesa he would only be sold abroad, avoiding Juventus and Inter.
"The club has not given me any indication in that sense," added Prade.
The Italy international has made 12 appearances in Serie A this season, and has scored twice.
