According to The Athletic, yet another Serie A club could be sold to American investors, as the Pozzo family are reportedly prepared to sell Udinese and a minority share of Watford too.

Italian football is becoming a new focus point for US investors looking to get into the sport, with clubs including Milan, Roma, Fiorentina, Spezia and Venezia all run by Americans.

Udinese are one of the few Serie A teams to own their stadium, which is a crucial element for investors.

A report in The Athletic today claims that Udinese are in advanced negotiations for a sale to a US investor with the Serie A side valued at approximately £175m ($200m).

That deal would also include a minority share, believed to be in the region of 10 per cent, in English club Watford.

It is believed Watford are valued at £140m, rising to £200m should they regain promotion to the Premier League.

The Pozzo family have been in charge of Udinese since 1986 and took over Watford in 2012, who were in the Premier League last season before relegation.

They had also owned Spanish side Granada between 2009 and 2016, regularly exchanging players on loan between the three co-ordinated clubs.

It is also suggested the investment takeover would include another Spanish club, specifically third-division Sabadell.
