Udinese owner Gianpaolo Pozzo urges Luis Muriel to prove himself next season, and confirms some home games may be played away.

The Colombian striker has been linked with a move away from the Zebrette this summer, but his club President has outlined plans for the market and they do not include such a hypothesis.

“We are considering what the best options will be so as to strengthen our attacking package,” Pozzo has considered to Messaggero Veneto today/

“We do have strikers, but this squad needs the addition of some experience.”

Cyril Theraeu is reported as on the verge of agreeing a switch from Chievo.

“Yes he is a valid option because he has a background that is important and can be adapted perfectly to the game that Andrea Stramaccioni wants to play and he can partner Antonio Di Natale.

“Thereau can represent that expert forward that we are lacking. His role would be, in some ways, similar to that with German Denis. He was a great player who, probably, we were unable to fully exploit.”

Theraeu’s arrival is seen as evidence that Udinese are open to Luis Muriel’s exit.

“No, the boy will remain in Udine. When he returns from Colombia and we will try to analyse some of the content to what he has said, to figure out if his words have been manipulated. But, Muriel does not move from here.

“It is true [that perhaps he has not lived up to expectations] but perhaps we have done something wrong too. But now it is up to him because he can no longer afford to waste time.

“Next season is the one in which he must prove to be a champion and make the leap.”

Udinese’s renovations of the Stadio Friuli remain on course for completion by the start of the 2015-16 season.

However, with capacity restricted in the ground during next season as a result of that work, reports are that some games where ticket demands are higher than average may force the club to play some home games away, in Trieste.

“We would like to play all our games at the Friuli, but the problem is related to management of public order.

“If we were to receive, on the occasion of a big match, a volume of ticket requests too high compared to the capacity, we will be forced to move to Trieste.

“But I can assure you that we will try to limit the number of matches we play ‘away’, for the inconvenience of the fans.”
