Reports in Italy suggest Diogo Dalot could return to Serie A as a free agent in the summer if he fails to extend his contract with Manchester United.

The Portugal international spent one season on loan at Milan in 2020-21 managing two goals in 33 appearances across all competitions.

He had been struggling with playing time at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick last term but seems to be much more involved in the Red Devils’ project this season having started all their six Premier League games so far.

His contract at Old Trafford runs out in June 2023 and the Premier League side have an option to automatically extend his stay at the club.

However, Serie A clubs are still keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old who scored his first two goals for Portugal in a Nations League game against the Czech Republic last week.

Calciomercato.com mentions Milan and Juventus as possible destinations for Dalot, but Roma are also interested in the right-back who joined the Red Devils under José Mourinho in 2018.

ll Corriere dello Sport confirms that Dalot is a long-time target of the Special One who would be happy to reunite with his compatriot at the Stadio Olimpico next year.

  1. MU should place a price tag on Dalot for 60-70 Million pounce if PSG or any other European clubs are interested in him.
