The Portuguese is still yet to make his debut for the club since arriving from Valencia on loan and there have recently been fears he may require surgery to fix a back problem.

“He should return to the team next week to work with the group,” Stefano Salvatori is quoted as saying on Lalaziosiamonoi.it.

“He has made another step forward in terms of his physical work.

“The boy is very happy with how it’s going but we need to manage his enthusiasm.”

Salvatori also confirmed that Cristian Ledesma should be fit in time to face Cagliari on Sunday, with Andre Dias set to return for next week’s encounter with Milan.
