Inter midfielder Matias Vecino could be sent to Everton on loan in exchange for Lucas Digne.

The 30-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has only made one Serie A start this season under coach Simone Inzaghi and he’s ready to leave the Lombardy capital, wanting a change of air after three-and-a-half years in Milan.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, a possible exchange deal with Everton’s Lucas Digne could be on the cards for this month’s transfer window. The 28-year-old Frenchman has fallen out of favour with coach Rafa Benitez and he’s not featured for the English side for over a month now.

Inter would be happy to sign Digne but only on loan with a possible buy option attached, with an obligation to buy clause not convincing the Nerazzurri.

Vecino’s contract expires with Inter at the end of this season and he doesn’t want to sit on the bench in Milan until then, so a move could suit all parties, although the fact that Digne’s contract expires with Everton in 2025 could complicate matters.

  1. Di Marco considered back up for Bastoni and left sided centre half therefore as well as left back.
